It's in the upper 70s and sunny today, and I have a quest to complete, to find her royal highness so I suited up and went to bother the bugs.

She's doing her thing. I found brand new day 1 eggs today. But I wanted to actually see her. So I carefully pulled frame by frame looking to find our girl.

But guys.... GUYS. I didn't just find Charmaine, I got video of her LAYING AN EGG!! BEEKEEPER LEVEL UP!

Here you can clearly see an egg poking from her abdomen. She finds a cell and plops it in before moving on to find the next cell. I don't know if you think this is as cool as I do, I hope you do, but I am so so so excited to have captured it!!! GAH SO NEAT!!

Oh, and well, I also got stung again. Occupational hazards an all that. Left hand middle finger. It wasn't the bees fault, it was mine. I was not wearing my gloves, and I kinda squished her while I was holding a frame and she didn't like that. It was a much more significant sting than last time because I was holding a frame and didn't immediately put it down to remove the stinger. I got alllll that venom and it hurt a lot longer than the last one, and my finger is currently swollen like a sausage. Meh.

But I don't care! I CAUGHT THE QUEEN LAYING AN EGG! 🎉 🐝
