About Kristin Belle
First of all, my name isn’t Kristin Belle, it’s Kristin Bellehumeur. But that’s a mouthful. Go on, try to say it. Unless you’re familiar with the French language, you’re probably gonna struggle a bit. That’s ok. I’ve heard every mispronunciation of Bell-Hue-Mer that you can think of. It’s my husbands fault. He was born in Quebec.
My husband and I have been married for 28 years. We were high school sweethearts. That sounds so sweet and adorable, but in reality, he was the bad-boy drop-out with long hair and a motorcycle. Yeah, everything my dad did not want for his youngest daughter and everything that made this teenage girl’s heart go pitter-pat. And when I told my dad I was pregnant during my senior year of high school, well. You can imagine the fireworks. But… Pierre was cute and I was head over heels for this guy.
Pierre and I got married in the spring of 1992, with our 7 month old son in attendance. Yes, my dad attended too. He had warmed up to Pierre by then. This guy that knocked up his daughter had actually stuck around through an unexpected teenage pregnancy, had been a hard working father, and is marrying the girl. Plus my dad had a new grandson and that was love at first sight for him. Well, for all of us. Two years later, we had a baby girl and our family was complete.
Fast forward 28 years, and we have been happily married ever since. Pierre is my best friend. We get along well and enjoy doing things together including boating, fishing, and scuba diving. Our son is now grown and a married man himself, and our daughter is engaged. We do not have any grandkids as of yet, but are so ready to fall in love with a grand baby one day.
Pierre is the owner/operator of Pierre’s Lock Shop here in Northeast Florida, and I’ve been working for him full time since 2013. I’m not a locksmith though, I dispatch our fleet of 10 technicians, and I do miscellaneous computer and administrative work. Basically I’m in front of a computer all day. I was a stay-at-home mom for 22 years before working for him, but with the kids grown and/or moved out, I was eager to fill my time with something and the position opened so I took it. No regrets. He’s not terrible to work for, and even after 7 years of living and working together, we’re still best friends. Weird, huh?
While I was a stay-at-home mom, I took up several different freelance jobs to make some spending cash for myself including graphic and web design for years until I got tired making stuff for other people. I still manage my husbands biz website and my dad’s website, who makes and sells custom electric guitars. I’ve hand made little knitting project bags and had an Etsy shop, but it’s been closed since 2011. I’m crafty, artistic, and enjoy making things. I seemingly collect hobbies, as I spend my free time knitting, making resin art & jewelry, gardening, and beekeeping. I’m quickly approaching my 50’s, but young at heart. I’m opinionated, but kind. I believe in treating others the way you’d want to be treated, and helping others just because you can. But I’m not all sunshine and roses. I sometimes have a foul mouth and always a twisted sense of humor. I am who I am, love it or leave it.
